Makenna Harrington is no stranger to putting in hard work to accomplish her goals. Just two years into her career at Reno, NV-based ZLINE, she is now Director of Sales Management for the sustainability-focused, Lake Tahoe-inspired kitchen and bath company—a title she achieved at age 24, which led to her inclusion in the Thirty Under 30 class of 2023. “Before this nomination, my biggest accomplishment was working my way up from a server in a restaurant to a sales position at a Renaissance Hotel while being a full-time college student,” she says.

Just six months into her current role, Makenna established a Vendor Success Team and has overseen more than $13 million in vendor sales in the first half of 2022, while participating in trade shows and ZLINE-affiliated training programs and coordinating a three-month-long Costco road show event. ZLINE has also donated more than $23,000 to help local Reno-area families in need and benefit various regional organizations, and the company’s sustainability focus means Makenna is involved in continual efforts to reduce packaging and recycle unused and damaged metals. “This culture is really what inspired me to not only join the company but also continue to strive for the best,” she says, adding that working at ZLINE “has made me able to provide so many families with their dream kitchen that they never thought would be attainable.”

“My goals are always constructed around my team and how they can succeed…if they don’t succeed then ZLINE as a company won’t succeed.”

According to Makenna, the words “servant leader” best describe her. “My goals are always constructed around my team and how they can succeed…if they don’t succeed then ZLINE as a company won’t succeed,” she explains. “Morale is very important to not only my team but to ZLINE as a whole and I hope as a leader I can continue to pass this down the chain.”

Makenna’s own personal kitchen-design style is Rustic Modern and she loves that she still has the Shabby Chic-inspired furniture she and her mom refinished for her bedroom when she was a teen. Topping her life goals is to buy a piece of property with a house on it that she and her husband, Wesley, can renovate and share with their two dogs, Scout and Moose. Also on the horizon? More travel. Outdoors-loving Makenna (she camps, boats and hikes) says her favorite vacation spot is Hawaii, but New Zealand, Africa and Italy are definitely on her must-visit list.
