Danielle Heath spent her teenage years transfixed by design shows on HGTV, so much so that she was inspired to constantly rearrange her bedroom furniture and even rip up carpeting to expose the hardwoods underneath. But, she says, “It wasn’t until I finished my gap year working at Disney World that I realized designing kitchens and decorating spaces could be a career—and my local college had a program specifically for this.”
After graduating in 2017 from the Interior Decorating program at London, Ontario’s Fanshawe College, where she qualified for NKBA’s Student Design Competition, Danielle accepted a position with a custom countertop company and gained extensive knowledge about natural stone and quartz. A love of kitchen design led her to locally-based Casey’s Creative Kitchens, where she was hired in August 2020 as an assistant to two of the company’s top designers. Over the past year, she has helped designer Brianne Avis achieve $2 million in sales.

Now a Designer herself, Danielle loves that each day on the job is different. “I am constantly on the go with having to work on designing, quoting, revising and ordering,” she says. “During the weeks that I have an install schedule it tends to be extra busy with site visits and making sure that everything is running smoothly.” The project she is most excited about is a new-build home where she’s designed all of the millwork in the kitchen, pantry, laundry/mudroom, vanities, walk-in closet and basement bar. “The clients were great to work with during the design process and I think it’s going to have a beautiful outcome,” she says.
Amid her career launch, Danielle managed to squeeze in a spring 2019 wedding to her husband, Taylor, and a home purchase while also pursuing her passion for hot yoga and spending weekends cooking family dinners and hanging with the couple’s two-year-old retriever mix, Jersey. She also enjoyed visits to Stockholm, Sweden and Prince Edward Island in Canada, as well as her old stand-by, Walt Disney World. Looking ahead, her future dream combines travel and lifestyle goals. “My life’s must-do list is to visit the Amalfi Coast, own a piece of property on the water and complete a road trip across Canada,” she says.
