Teenagers might not know everything, but Andrew Risinger knew certain things. He knew when he met a girl named Hayden at age 14 in a bible-study group that he would marry her one day — and he did. And he knew after working in a hardware store throughout high school and college that he wanted a career in the building and remodeling industry.

“I am a huge fan of earth tones and craftsman styling. I believe that each piece of wood is unique and therefore should be displayed and exemplified.”

After receiving an Agricultural Leadership & Development degree from Texas A&M University — where his favorite areas of study were economics, business management and applied leadership — he made that happen, too.

Now Sales Manager & Lead Designer at Kitchen, Bath & Home (formerly The Cabinet Concierge), where he started as a design assistant in 2016, Andrew works with clients to turn aspirational kitchens and bathrooms into reality. But he also wears many hats, from managing installations to serving as IT manager, and his talent and dedication have helped the company double its cabinet sales over the past two years. His favorite projects, he says, utilize natural wood as centerpieces. “I am a huge fan of earth tones and craftsman styling,” he notes. “I believe that each piece of wood is unique and therefore should be displayed and exemplified.”

Beyond work, Andrew and Hayden are parents to young daughters Julia and Macy and enjoy traveling internationally — from West Africa to Southeast Asia, Mexico to Europe. “My wife and I have a passion for other cultures and learning about people from around the world,” he says. His solo escape is backpacking, during which he turns off his phone and simply enjoys the peace and quiet of the forest. What word best describes him? “Inspired,” he says. “Inspired by my family, my work, the people around me, and above all, my faith in God.” He could easily have said intrepid: Andrew’s bucket list includes backpacking in New Zealand, sky-diving and running a marathon.
