In the four years since Pip Wu graduated with honors from the NKBA-accredited British Columbia Institute of Technology with a degree in Interior Design, she has proven that her self-described enthusiasm and determination create results. As a Kitchen & Bath Fixtures Specialist for Ferguson/Wolseley in Burnaby, British Columbia, Pip has continued the sales success she generated in her previous role at Canada’s first Kohler Signature Store in Vancouver, where she was the first Canada rep to be in the top 3% of sales for all Kohler Signature Stores in North America. “I’ve been able to continue my success with top sales — having a lot of my customers follow me to my new place of work,” she explains of her outside sales rep role. “I pride myself on providing outstanding customer service.”

While her day-to-day responsibilities involve designing fixture packages for clients (developers, trades and homeowners) based on the interior design style and the material allowance/budget — which includes presentation, discussion, negotiation and follow-up to close the deal — Pip says the best aspect of being a plumbing fixture specialist is “helping people build their dream homes.”

“I’ve been able to continue my success with top sales — having a lot of my customers follow me to my new place of work. I pride myself on providing outstanding customer service.”

Her own personal design preferences are Scandinavian and mid-century modern. “It’s difficult for me to pick one, as they both have a strong connection with nature and a focus on aesthetics and functionality combined,” she explains.

When she’s not hard at work — or hard at play with her boyfriend’s sassy five-year-old mini Bull Terrier, Rosa — you’ll find Pip recruiting new NKBA participants as part of her chapter’s Membership Committee or packing her bags for a world adventure. Since graduating, she has visited Tokyo, Budapest, Prague, Vienna and Poland as well as Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Portland, Stateside. “I love museums and art galleries, exploring nature and, of course, authentic cuisines,” she says. “As a foodie, I enjoy all different kinds of cuisines: Italian, French, Greek, Chinese, Japanese and more. I also enjoy cooking and watching cooking videos. Cooking is art.” On her future must-do list? Return visits to both Europe and Japan.
