To Hannah Triebel’s bosses at Baltimore-based Sunnyfields Cabinetry, both her sense of design, and the resulting bottom line, are impressive. Over the four-plus years that Hannah has been creating kitchens and bathrooms — she was hired as Showroom Manager at the start-up home remodeling business in 2015 and in 2017 was promoted to Design Associate, then Project Designer and is now Lead Project Designer — her renovations have accounted for 43% of the company’s total sales. With her Bachelor’s in Architecture from the University of Maryland School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and her self-described “lively” personality, Hannah has used her well-honed aesthetic sense and knowledge of architectural traditions to forge deep relationships with clients seeking functional and beautiful design solutions.
“I love Neo-Traditional interior design. Specifically, I like the idea of effortlessly combining new and old. This way of styling a space somewhat negates the need for a specific stylistic label and, to me, the ambiguity is sophisticated and timeless.”
She has also won awards — most recently the Maryland Building Industry Association’s Award of Excellence in the category of “Bathroom Remodel over $200,000” — and received “shout-outs” from local design publications, including being featured in Home & Design Magazine’s 2021 Design Visionaries. Her keen sense of space and eye for detail help set the stage. “I love Neo-Traditional interior design. Specifically, I like the idea of effortlessly combining new and old. This way of styling a space somewhat negates the need for a specific stylistic label and, to me,” she says, “the ambiguity is sophisticated and timeless.”
Hannah, who decorated her childhood bedroom with hot-pink walls and hot pink polka dots in the dormer, accented by a leopard-print bedspread (“It was a statement!”), credits her grandmother with inspiring her to follow her passion by taking her on Frank Lloyd Wright tours all over the country. Newly engaged, she and her fiancé enjoy going to concerts, attending Ravens home games and hanging out on their roof deck (a very Baltimore City “thing,” she notes) with their Corgi Millie and mutt Colonel. An avid runner and antique-hunter, Hannah also plays soccer in the VOLO City Sports League, whose fees are used to support organized sports leagues for kids ages 6-12, and volunteers with Sunnyfields’ philanthropic partner Helping Up Mission, a recovery program for the homeless and addicted. In her future? “Travel to all seven continents!”
