On July 4, President Trump signed a temporary extension of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) offering small businesses an additional five weeks to apply for the roughly $130 billion remaining in the program. The legislation extends the June 30 deadline to August 8. Congress created the PPP in March and has modified it on two occasions to add funding to the program and allow more flexibility in the use of funds. If you are interested in applying for PPP funds, please review the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) resource center.
As Congress returns from its holiday recess, it is expected to continue negotiations on what the next federal stimulus package will entail. NKBA will continue to monitor the federal government’s response to COVID-19 and provide updates to our membership on relief programs.
