Become a Chapter Officer and guide your NKBA community in 2022.

By Dianne M. Pogoda

NKBA’s local organizations are critical to the smooth operation of the Association on the national level, and finding the right leaders to guide these communities is more important than ever.

Nominations for 2022 Chapter Officers are now open, and we invite you to consider stepping up your role on the local level.

Chapter Officers are recognized as industry leaders in their communities, and the opportunities for professional development and leadership training are sure to benefit individuals personally, within the chapter as well as in their own business endeavors. Visibility as an officer raises your profile in the community and in the industry, and provides an opportunity to network with other professionals at a high level.

Officers influence local  programing and operations, which affect the chapter, the national organization and ultimately, the kitchen and bath industry overall. Officers also receive a VIP KBIS package, and will participate in valuable training at KBIS 2022, Feb. 7 in Orlando. Leadership on the local level is also a stepping stone to pursue positions on national committees.

There are three open positions for 2022, including President, Programs Chair and Communications Chair.

To be sure there is interest in the role, all candidates must self-nominate — no surprise nominations! Positions run for a single two-year term, with the option to self-nominate again for another two-year term. Once an officer has served for four years, he or she must be off the chapter’s leadership council for at least two years.

All officers must be NKBA members. Only one officer can come from the same company or family. All regular members in good standing are eligible to vote; Student members are not eligible to vote nor to hold an officer position.

Self-nominations are open through July 16. Click here for details. Any questions? Email chapters@nkba.org.
