The 2017 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) took on Orlando this year for its 52nd annual show, and it did not disappoint! Thousands of industry professionals flocked to this year’s KBIS, one of the LARGEST in event history with an estimated 15% growth in attendance!
The Magic of Design party kicked things off as actor and comedian Orlando Jones announced the recipients of the 2017 NKBA Design Competition and Industry Awards. Other notable awards ceremonies included the Innovative Showroom of the Year event, the Best of KBIS Competition, and the Tiny House Challenge: Student Edition.
This year’s KBISNeXT Stage wowed everyone with dozens of inspirational events. Programming ranged from the 30 Under 30 presentations, DesignBites and a Generation Next announcement to fun and informative sessions covering color schemes and AirBnB. The Innovative Showroom of the Year Awards were also hosted on the stage, celebrating the most unique showrooms at KBIS. Walker Zanger Global Headquarters walked away as the overall winner.
Over at the Best of KBIS, an event that spotlights the best of the kitchen and bath industry, GEOLUXE took best in show after earning gold in the Best of Kitchen category. TOTO won gold in the Best of Bath category. You can check out all the winners here.
The Tiny House Challenge showcased tiny house models that students created from a set of requirements that included specifying kitchen size, the incorporation of a living wall and a repurposed item. Elizabeth Trench of Century College took first place with students Tiffany Murphy and Betsy Walstrom coming in a close second and third.
