We are in a lighting revolution where keeping up with technology and the changes to lighting can be overwhelming. What is new in lighting and how should we be designing it into our kitchens and bathrooms?

Lighting is important to enhance the finishes you choose. Reflective surfaces can be challenging as glare may become a factor. This is also important from a wellness perspective.

How are we lighting spaces differently with all the screen time occurring in our home environments? What are the latest trends we are seeing in kitchen and bath lighting functionally as well as aesthetically? How does the color of light impact our finishes in positive or negative ways?

This session will focus on understanding all of these concepts and having the ability to design and implement them into kitchen and bath projects.

At the end of this session you will:

• Define basic lighting terminology and what types of lighting are currently being offered.

• Identify and describe the various layers of light used to illuminate a kitchen and/or bath.

• Explain the new concepts in designing lighting for kitchens and bathrooms.
