PRIMARY BATHROOM 3rd Place – Primary Bath – “Aging in Style” – Jim Mirando, Jr., CMKBD, Excel Remodeling
This serene and spa-inspired bathroom was designed with both comfort and longevity in mind. The homeowners, planning to remain in their custom home for years to come, wanted a space that combined safety, function, and beauty. By removing an underused whirlpool tub, Jim created room for a spacious barrier-free shower and a luxurious walk-in tub featuring air, hydro, and chromatherapy options. Thoughtful details like an extended quartz windowsill, smart storage solutions, and heated tile flooring ensure the space is as practical as it is elegant. The result is a calming retreat that allows the clients to truly age in style.
PRIMARY BATH 1st place –“Whispering Wellness” – Heather Rineer, NCIDQ, Rineer Designs
This stunning primary suite was designed as a personal sanctuary focused on wellness, light, and daily functionality. A spacious shower for two features a bench, dual showerheads, and recessed niches, while the spa-inspired soaking tub is perfectly centered on a large window, creating a peaceful view and a striking backdrop. Thoughtful storage solutions, including a dedicated hair tool station and cleverly designed drawers, keep the space uncluttered and highly functional.
PRIMARY BATH 2nd place – “A Serene Shower Sanctuary” – Brian Miller, CMKBD, Excel Remodeling
This primary bath harmoniously blends timeless charm with modern functionality. A spacious walk-in shower with a handheld showerhead ensures comfort and accessibility, and, along with the tub wet area, features a beautiful basket weave tile floor for texture and elegance. The showpiece of the room — a stunning mural tile installation, creates the feeling of looking into a peaceful forest while showering. Antique-inspired fixtures and warm wood flooring complete the space, making it both restorative and refined.

October Chapter Event Recap at Daltile
Our October chapter event was hosted by new chapter member, Daltile. Daltile had members design their own stunning mosaic picture frames using gorgeous porcelain tiles. We also enjoyed delicious food and cocktails while soaking in valuable knowledge during Benjamin Moore’s presentation on “Creating Healthy Environments with Advanced Paint Technology.” Huge thanks to expert Linda Cipriano for sharing your insights! What a fantastic way to welcome autumn, surrounded by industry professionals. Here’s to many more inspiring events ahead!
Cozy Up: Fall Bourbon & Chocolate Pairing Event
The NKBA Susquehanna Valley's November event was a cozy celebration of autumn, hosted at the stunning Classic Rock Design Center and sponsored by Mother Hubbards Custom Cabinetry. Attendees enjoyed an evening of Bourbon and Chocolate Pairing, a delightful combination that perfectly captured the season's warmth and richness. Surrounded by industry friends and colleagues, the event provided an inviting atmosphere to connect, indulge and embrace the spirit of fall together.
Conestoga House & Gardens - Summer Tour Event
In June, the Susquehanna Valley group enjoyed a memorable visit to the Historic Conestoga House and Gardens in Lancaster, PA. This event combined history, architectural beauty, and community spirit. We explored the grand mansion, with its blend of Federal, Victorian, and Colonial Revival styles, and marveled at the intricate woodwork and elegant furnishings. The meticulously designed gardens offered a serene and picturesque setting, perfect for wandering and appreciating nature. The day concluded with a delightful wine tasting on the patio, hosted by One Hope Winery. Each sip was more meaningful knowing that a portion of the proceeds benefited the Salvation Army, adding a philanthropic touch to our gathering. Enjoy the gallery of images capturing the highlights of this enriching experience.
