Natural stone is one of the most used building products in the world with increased sales for the design and dealer communities. This 1-hour session is designed for design professionals to gain a full understanding of natural stone as a building material. Learn about various stones (limestone, travertine, onyx, marble, soapstone, and granite with an emphasis on quartzite) and their inherent characteristics and behavior in a home environment. Obtain information about common quarrying techniques, fabrication, and finishing methods. With this understanding, you'll enhance your ability to confidently guide clients to select the proper stone, fabrication technique, and finish for your projects.
