Faith is one of the outstanding young professionals in NKBA’s Thirty Under 30 Class of 2023, sponsored by Delta Faucet Co. and Signature Kitchen Suite.
Faith Martin remembers the moment her passion for interior design was ignited. “I think it all started when I was little and my sisters and I would play with Barbies,” she says. “I would build their house and decorate each room while my sisters played with the actual Barbies.” Her first real project was her own bedroom. “Like every normal middle-school kid, I decided to create a Strié pattern look with my favorite color, Burgundy, and a complimentary color underneath,” she recalls. “I spent hours streaking horizontal lines by hand making sure it was seamless.”
Faith’s creative eye and eagerness to learn allowed her quickly acquire the skills to work her way up the ladder from customer care to Sales Development Specialist at Raleigh, NC-based Kitchen Cabinet Distributors, where in just her second year at KCD, at age 25, she was recognized among the company’s 97 employees for going above and beyond in her work.
Currently, Faith’s typical day consists of assisting outside sales representatives and organizing data around their performance, setting up new dealers and creating reports that monitor new lead generation. She also has a hand in kitchen and bathroom design and enjoys being able to transform a space by melding the company’s cabinets and a customer’s personal inspiration. “I love that I get to work with data while also getting to express my creative side,” says Faith, who also recently worked on a project with HGTV, calling it “an amazing experience.”
“Adaptable” is the word she uses to describe herself, noting she grew up with seven brothers and sisters—and her mom and dad were also foster parents to many other children—so it’s a trait she has easily carried over into her work life. When not turning customer’s K&B dreams into reality, Faith enjoys attending local events and exhibits and going to the movies with David, her husband of four years. She also plays softball and takes long walks with her two dogs, Cooper and Apollo (the couple also has a cat named Anya and a hedgehog called Meeko). Faith has recently started attending Eastern Carolinas Chapter events and meetings and says, “I’m excited to start volunteering with event/meeting planning!”
