Getting to Know NKBA KBIS Exhibitor Committee Member Jonathan Krieger.  By Steven Campeau

The KBIS Exhibitor Committee provides a link between the exhibitors and the NKBA National to ensure that their needs are being appropriately monitored and evaluated. It advises NKBA National on industry trends and makes recommendations for appropriate products, programs and services to meet the needs of the exhibitors and attendees. This important national volunteer committee is composed of up to 10 individuals who represent their KBIS exhibiting companies and serve three-year terms. The national election cycle, happening September 1 to September 30, will include up to four open positions for the KEC. If interested in applying during the election cycle, go here starting September 1.   Today we’re featuring KEC member Jonathan Krieger, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Fabuwood Cabinetry.

How did you get your start in the kitchen and bath industry and/or NKBA?

After graduating from college a good friend of mine became a sales representative who sold to the big box store, and they were expanding their sales team. From there, I joined RSI Home products and really built upon my foundation. I expanded to focus on our dealer channel business before moving on to Fabuwood where I could use all my experience and help the company become one of the top cabinetry manufacturers across North America.

What National Committee are you currently on and why did you want to volunteer for it?

This year I was fortunate and honored to be selected for the 2022 KBIS committee to help support the show and to ensure that it is the best one yet. The collaboration with the NKBA and committee during our meeting was great to be a part of. We really focused on all different aspects and takeaways to see how we can enhance the event for 2023.

What is your favorite part of being an NKBA member and/or national volunteer?

Collaborating with the members and networking. I always believe all conversations are positive. You always learn new things when meeting new people and building relationships. I strongly believe that building strong relationships is an ingredient to overall success in life and business.

Do you have a current trend or product that members just have to know more about?

Yes we are seeing a major move to more transitional and modern products. Recently we added a new door called Luna that meets both of these trends. Some call it the new modern or thin shaker style.

What inspires you about the kitchen and bath industry and/or in your life?

The challenges and rewards that we have each day. Everyday brings both a reward and a challenge that is fulfilling as a leader and mentor.

Bonus Questions!

Where is your favorite vacation spot and does that influence your home decor?

Europe is my favorite vacation area, especially Italy. I love the history and culture of these countries. It’s amazing to see 1,000 years of past architecture that is still relevant today.  A lot of today’s transitional and modern trends flows inside and outside in our home

What are you most looking forward to this year, personally or professionally? (or both!)

The past two years have been the most challenging times in my 20+ year career. I’m looking forward to some type of stability in the industry as most of us are looking for. At the same time I must say that these challenges only helped improve how our company handles these situations while achieving a positive result.

What topic or area are you most passionate about in the kitchen and bath industry?

Helping our dealer network be successful, whether it is with our product or a competitor’s product. I feel it is important as a strategic supplier partner to always help our dealers succeed and give them ways that they can be efficient and to increase their business opportunities.
