This year’s prestigious NKBA Kitchen & Bath Design Competition is now open for submissions.

Designers will compete for prizes in large (more than 250 square feet) and small (under 250 square feet) kitchens in Contemporary and Traditional categories; large (more than 55 square feet) and small (under 55 square feet) bathrooms in Contemporary and Traditional categories; and specialty categories of Outdoor Kitchen spaces and submissions by a Builder/Remodeler.

Winners will be revealed next February at KBIS 2022 in Orlando, Fla. First-place winner in the kitchen and bath categories earns $2,500; second place wins $1,500 and third place earns $1,000. Specialty categories take home $2,000 each. In addition, winners of Best Overall Kitchen and Best Overall Bath, chosen from among the first-place kitchen and bath category winners, each take home an additional grand prize of $10,000. So top projects have the potential to win $12,500.

The competition is open to NKBA members and non-members alike. First entry for NKBA members during the early-bird period from April 15 to May 31 is free. Additional entries or projects submitted from June 1 to July 2 are $129 per project for members. The entry fee for non-members is $199 per project. There is no limit on the number of entries a designer may submit.

The competition is judged by design-industry professionals. Amateur photos, including phone images, are acceptable for the submission process. After the first round of judging, contestants will be asked to submit high-resolution, print-quality shots; a full design statement; product specification form, and photo release.

Besides cash prizes, all winners will receive one (1) personalized award and a valuable KBIS 2022 package.

Grand prize winners will also be featured in industry publications/media ads and other editorial and promotional materials. All winners will be covered in KBB magazine other trade and consumer outlets, featured on the NKBA website, and promoted via national press release to consumer and trade media.
