AMEICO is a 25-year-old lighting wholesale distributor and retailer based in New Milford, Conn., that values well-crafted, long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing lighting solutions. Jeanette Purdy, Co-owner and general manager of AMEICO, shared some insights and facts about the company at the ICFF Pavilion, sponsored by Design Milk, during one of the DMTV “Milkshake Lite” segments at KBIS Virtual.

  • Purdy noted current trends stemming from the pandemic including the importance of fostering warmth and an inviting atmosphere in the kitchen. She said lighting serves as a great focal point for a space while creating a welcoming environment, and helps create thoughtful spaces that flow well.
  • Sustainable design is the most important design principle, she said, and the only way to move forward. She cited brands like Original BTC, which make lighting fixtures out of sturdy gunmetal.
  • AMEICO chooses durable products that will age well and feature good construction.
