NKBA’s Students of the Industry program, sponsored by Sub-Zero Wolf Cove, helps foster the next generation of kitchen and bath designers. Two alumnae of Virginia Tech, one of NKBA’s Founding Schools, recently earned top honors from the association.
Taylor Olson, a kitchen and bathroom designer at Mid South Building Supply in Ashburn, Va., received the Ellen Cheever Student Certification Scholarship. This honor includes access to certification preparation resources and waived exam fees. The Ellen Cheever Student Certification Scholarship is awarded to NKBA student members at NKBA Affiliated Schools who are pursuing kitchen and bath studies. It is named in honor of educator Ellen Cheever, CMKBD, ASID, CAPS, CLIPP.
Morgan Jones, assistant designer for Dave’s Cabinet Inc. in Chesapeake, Va., won first place in the NKBA Student Design Competition for her kitchen design. The competition required creating a space that met the needs of fictional clients.
