An increasing number of homes under 20 years old are being renovated, as undesirable or outdated features have become more noticeable. This is especially true since COVID-19 has many people working from home and intensely scrutinizing the flaws in their kitchens and baths. The September update of the NKBA 2020 Kitchen & Bath Market Outlook reveals that a higher percentage of kitchen and bath remodels occurred in homes under 20 years of age than in those over age 40 in the second quarter. With reduced commuting costs and vacation plans, summer camps and dinners out often cancelled, homeowners found themselves with a little extra disposable income in their pockets. Home remodeling was the beneficiary of those funds.
