Student program submissions close June 22. By Loren Kessell

The NKBA strives to provide student members with tools necessary for success in the kitchen and bath industry, including offering student chapters, access to resources and the Student Design Competition.

Student chapters and membership for the 2019-2020 school year are generously sponsored by Sub-Zero Wolf.

Students who enter the NKBA Student Design Competition have a chance to earn industry recognition and scholarship money. This year’s theme is “The Boulder the Better,” which requires students to create dream kitchens and baths for a fictional couple living in Boulder, Colo. This competition is open to all NKBA student members enrolled in an educational institution on the date of submission, and there is no entry fee.

Another program the NKBA offers student members is the Ellen Cheever Student Certification Scholarship. Educators may nominate students to receive an NKBA Grad Pack with all materials needed to begin the entry-level NKBA certification journey.

Its namesake is longtime NKBA member Ellen Cheever, CMKBD, ASID, CAPS, CLIPP, who has been in the kitchen and bath industry for nearly 50 years. She taught many designers and industry professionals about kitchen and bathroom planning and design.

The deadline for both NKBA’s Student Design Competition and Ellen Cheever Student Certification Scholarship is Monday, June 22.
