Baseball superstar will deliver keynote on Tuesday morning, before the expo opens.
Alex Rodriguez, the Major League Baseball legend-turned-entrepreneur, will address a packed house at the opening ceremonies for Design & Construction Week, Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 8 a.m. in Las Vegas.
The ceremonies take place at the Paradise Event Center at the Westgate Hotel, next to the Las Vegas Convention Center, with doors opening at 7 a.m. Comedian Tracy Locke will MC the event, where NKBA chairman of the Board Allison Lowrie will join Greg Ugalde, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders’ Board, in welcoming thousands of industry professionals to North America’s largest expo devoted to residential design, remodeling and construction.
After his stellar baseball career, in which he was a 14-time All-Star, three-time MVP and 2009 World Series Champ with the New York Yankees, Rodriguez started A-Rod Corp., a successful investment firm focused on real estate investment and development. He is a motivational and inspirational speaker, media personality and philanthropist.
In 2019, he launched “The Corp,” a podcast with Barstool Sports’ Dan Katz that interviews industry leaders, sports legends and entrepreneurs. It made its debut as the number-one podcast in America.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. Rodriguez actively engages in a variety of philanthropic initiatives. He is passionate about education and has sponsored college tuition for over 30 students via his scholarship program.
He will be stepping in for Earvin “Magic” Johnson, who regretfully had to withdraw from the DCW Opening Ceremonies due to the timing of the memorial in New York City for former NBA commissioner David Stern, where he will be delivering a eulogy.
