August is a busy month at NKBA as we kick into high gear in preparing for KBIS. Registration for the biggest and best kitchen and bath expo in North America is open — and free to NKBA members through Aug. 31. NKBA is powered by the exceptional effort of volunteers on all rungs of the organization — from people helping out on committees at the local level to the Chapter Leadership Committee and the Board of Directors at the national level. If you have great ideas and have already been active in your local chapter, we’d love for you to consider taking the next step by submitting your name to play on the national field.
The application period for National Elections runs from through Aug. 31. To apply, click on National Leadership Volunteer Positions and select the committee you feel best suits your skill set. There are currently two open positions on the Board of Directors; one slot on the Leadership Recruitment Committee (which screens and presents candidates for the Board); one position on the Chapter Leadership Committee, and five open spots on the KBIS Exhibitor Committee.
There are only three days left to nominate a rising young star for the prestigious Thirty Under 30 Class of 2020. Nominations close Friday. This program recognizes accomplished young professionals on their path to being the industry’s rock stars and future leaders. Nominate an outstanding individual, born on or after Jan. 21, 1990, to be considered for entry into this elite group — self-nominations are welcome!
The Thirty Under 30 Class of 2020 will be honored at KBIS in Las Vegas, Jan. 21-23, where they’ll have the opportunity to network with program alumni and past presidents of the NKBA, participate in the 30s Choice Awards, gain national media exposure, as well as earn a complimentary trip to KBIS (airfare and hotel), an expo pass, conference pass, access to NKBA events including the Kitchen + Bath Design and Industry Awards and Opening Night gala and the best party at KBIS, the Bash. There are numerous pre- and post-event networking activities, as well as interesting and informative programs for the Thirties during the year.
