The Hamptons 2018 Summer Show House is set to open on July 29th and is expected to feature all of the elements for a sumptuous yet simple style of living. Located on Long Island, N.Y., the more than 8,000-sq.-ft., three-floor residence combines both classic and modern elements with an open floor plan and a seamless transition to the outdoors.
The home will be offered as a complete turnkey-ready house that will be put on the market after the public tour dates end in August. Until then, New York City-based Kristen Farrell of Kristen Farrell Home is outfitting this new build with the ideal getaway design.
“Our clients want effortless luxury and simple sophistication. The show home represents the ‘best of the best’ in design, building and furnishing,” says Farrell. “The home puts a modern stamp on classic Hamptons architecture with clean bathrooms and a bright kitchen, along with luxuriously livable furnishings. There are aesthetic nods to timelessness with custom hardware and wood accents throughout.”
KBB spoke with Farrell to find out more on the design, in particular the kitchen.
KBB: What were your goals for this design?
Farrell: My goals were to encompass modern day living, elegance and a true Hamptons aesthetic under one roof. We kept the floor plan bright and open and made sure that all of our materials reflected the quality oriented, beach theme of owning a home out East.
KBB: By what were you challenged?
Farrell: Probably the timeline of the process was the most challenging. We had these opening events set in stone since day one, so making sure that the house was ready/finished by those dates was definitely something I kept in mind!
KBB: What helped you to accomplish your goals?
Farrell: A supremely intelligent, driven and excited team, on every aspect, was essential to this project.
KBB: What were some of your top product choices for this house?
Farrell: Newport Brass Plumbing was a natural choice for our show home – we’ve used the brand countless times in the past and really wanted to make sure that the best-of-the-best was going into this project. I feel like their products are really the jewels of the bathrooms and never go unnoticed.”
KBB: What was your favorite part of this space?
Farrell: As a whole, I really love the furnishings by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. The kitchen is spectacular, as is the lower-level recreation area and backyard. I’m just really happy with how everything came together.
Partners to the show home include Sherwin-Williams, Baldwin Hardware, Harbour Outdoor, Samsung, Arteriors, Sub-Zero/Wolf and Newport Brass Plumbing. The new Kristen Farrell Home custom paint collection by Sherwin-Williams comes in 24 Hamptons-styled hues with options including Skyline (lite gray), Byron Blue and Hamptons White. Kristen Farrell Home produced all private-label towels and candles, and the home theatre carpeting is done by Prestige Mills.
