JennAir’s new creative platform and brand ethos, “Bound by Nothing,” was unveiled at the end of March and heralds a bold direction for the label. Challenging the status quo through new offerings that defy conventional luxury, the new era of JennAir offers designers, builders, installers and consumers alike the progressive tools to create a kitchen experience that is uniquely their own. Harkening back to the spirit of its founder, Lou Jenn, the brand is regrounding itself in an aura of progress and forward momentum.
“Bound By Nothing was born out of consumer insight that modern luxury consumers who have
earned their wealth expect more from products and services,” said Jon Hall, JennAir marketing director. “This means more product distinction, customization and experiences they can truly call their own, and the ability to personalize them to fit into their custom-built lifestyles.
“If you look at the luxury category today, it lacks signs of progress, instead delivering designers and end-users stale, one-size-fits-all offerings,” Hall added. “JennAir is here to change that, moving the industry forward across appliance products and services… [To shatter] the expectations of tired luxury standards, JennAir is delivering more than 70 new products across two distinct design expressions and an industry-leading digital platform, breathing much needed life into the very meaning of luxury appliances.”
Bound By Nothing comes to life through two new design expressions, Rise and Noir. Across these new product offerings, the brand is releasing more than 70 new products, including the debut of column refrigerators, built-in refrigerators, commercial ranges, range tops, cooktops, wall ovens, urban living offerings and dishwashers.
Rise marries tradition and power with progressive design. It embraces an evolved kitchen aesthetic, featuring warm, luxurious brass accents. The kitchen suite of appliances pairs connected technology with provocative design to create a full consumer experience. The collection will make its debut later this year.
Noir is modern and geometric, yet marked with luscious, sensual details. It features a blend of intimate design elements through a daring new minimalist style. The suite includes structured angles and clean lines, lace patterns on the handles, crisp silhouettes in progressive design.
The new JennAir column refrigerators are available in more than 300 customizable combinations, with stealth flush doors and concealed details that remain hidden until opened. Features include an industry-exclusive Obsidian interior finish, inspired by volcanic glass; 650 LED Ecliptic lighting; the Trinity three-zone cooling system with three precision sensors controlling temperature and humidity in each zone; flexible interiors; innovative installation processes, and Wi-Fi connectivity that uses Amazon Alexa or Google Home voice commands, or notifies homeowners about a filter change, a power outage or an open door.
Other special offerings include “Cuts” Italian leather-covered columns; “Smoke and Brass” 48-inch professional-style range with a hand-applied finish of polished layers in a limited edition of 50 units, and “Burlesque” refrigerators, marked by a rich and sensual burgundy-hued interior inspired by the deep reds often seen in luxury cars or the lush, velvet interior of an antique jewelry box.
The collections also offer custom-configuration cooktops, ranges and wall ovens with smooth-glide and resilient racks, cast iron grates, backlit knobs that indicate when the burner is lit or the oven is on, steam, convection, chef’s lighting, dual fans, high capacity to accommodate multiple dishes and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Ultra-quiet dishwashers include the Trifecta wash system with three-stage filtration, pressurized wash arms and alternating wash action in two wash zones. These also have interior lighting, extra drying options and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Supporting all this is a new digital platform to be unveiled in the fall, delivering heightened engagement to consumers and integrated into the latest JennAir products. The platform offers faster, smarter services including optimizing refrigerator temperatures, ensuring clean dishes upon arrival at home through remote start dishwasher cycles, keeping tabs on appliances with real-time notifications, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Nest and Apple Watch.
Bound By Nothing also reveals a new JennAir brand logo — characterized by a bold stylized “J” created with two ascendant columns hinting at JennAir’s product silhouettes and signifying “defiant innovation that begets progress,” according to the company. The sculptural curve of the “J” is inspired by the brand’s signature downdraft design.
Through these elements, JennAir’s Bound By Nothing campaign embodies a
spirit of disruption and rebellion, challenging existing concepts of luxury to bring progress to the kitchen industry.
