Voices from the Industry: Deadline Extended! The call for proposals to present a VFTI session at KBIS 2019, Feb. 19-21, has been extended one week to May 24. NKBA is looking for subject matter experts to submit ideas and topics in one of five categories: Design; Specialty Kitchen and Bath Training; Grow Your Business; Management; Customer Service.

For the first time at KBIS 2019, NKBA will offer a special VFTI session directed specifically at students enrolled in training programs for careers in the kitchen and bath industry. This may be conducted as an interactive lab or presentation-style. NKBA is soliciting themes and instructors for this session, which should be introductory in nature, touching on areas of interest to aspiring professionals. The same deadlines apply as for the general VFTI sessions. Students will have access to this special course at no charge.

Presenting at VFTI is a great opportunity to gain industry exposure and generate brand awareness among industry leaders of today and tomorrow, boost your credibility and build your business as you share your knowledge with others.   • Professional Design Competition: Entries will be accepted from April 2 to July 2. You must be an NKBA member to compete; there’s no limit on the number of entries you may submit. Your first entry fee is waived during early-bird pricing from April 2 to May 31. Additional projects submitted during this period are $75 per entry. From June 1 to July 2, the entry fee is $100.

 

  • Thirty Under 30: Nominations for this prestigious honor, which recognizes the rising rock stars of the kitchen and bath industry, are due by July 27. Candidates must be employed in the kitchen and bath business, must be born on or after Feb. 22, 1989, and may be nominated by another industry professional or apply directly.
