The National Kitchen & Bath Association Announces 2016 Chairman and Board of Directors
Twenty-four-year industry veteran, Mark Kovich, Vice President of Sales and Marketing,Waypoint Living Spaces®, takes office as Chairman of the Board, January 1, 2016
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (DECEMBER 7, 2015) — The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), the premier association for nearly 14,000 member companies representing tens of thousands of members, announced today its 2016 Board of Directors, representing a wide spectrum of industry segments. As part of the new governance structure, the nine person Board of Directors will work with CEO Bill Darcy to guide the NKBA into the future, effectively direct its resources, and collaborate in a more nimble, effective and efficient manner.
The 2016 Board of Directors, led by NKBA Chairman, Mark Kovich, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Waypoint Living Spaces®, includes Neil Bailey, President – CEO, Poggenpohl North America; Emilee Chappell, Director of Marketing, TOTO USA Inc.; Denise Dick, CMKBD, Owner, Signature Kitchens by Design; Timothy Ebner, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Perlick Corporation; Stephen Joseph; Lorenzo Marquez, Vice President of Marketing, Cosentino; Maria Stapperfenne, CMKBD, Manager, Tewksbury Kitchens & Baths; and Chris Terrill, CEO, HomeAdvisor.

Chairman – Mark Kovich, Waypoint Living Spaces®
Mark has spent 24 years working for manufacturers of products for the kitchen and bath industry. He has served the NKBA at the national level for the past seven years, most recently holding the position of Chairman-Elect on the Executive Committee. Mark also served on the Board of Directors as a Member at Large. During his three-year term, he chaired the Nominating Committee, served on the CEO Compensation Committee, and the Governance Task Force. Mark also served as the Chairperson for the Advisory Council of Manufacturers. He is currently Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Waypoint Living Spaces®, a division of American Woodmark. Waypoint Living Spaces is the proud sponsor of the NKBA Student and Professional Design Competitions.
Vice Chair – Lorenzo Marquez, Cosentino North America
Lorenzo Marquez is Vice President of Marketing for Cosentino North America. In this role he oversees all marketing, public relations and digital strategies for Cosentino Group’s portfolio of brands in the U.S and Canadian markets. Marquez has been instrumental in overseeing Cosentino’s expansion in North America over the last 12 years, which now accounts for over 35 Cosentino Centers, and the global launch of an entirely new brand, Dekton by Cosentino. Marquez joined Cosentino in 2003 after receiving a degree in Entrepreneurship from the University of Houston and working for Levi Strauss & Company also in marketing. He has previously served on the NKBA Board of Directors and the KBIS Advisory Council and is an active member of the A+D and Kitchen & Bath community.
Secretary/Treasurer – Neil Bailey, Poggenpohl North America
Neil Bailey was appointed President – CEO of Poggenpohl U.S. and Canada late 2012, and by 2015, Poggenpohl enjoyed a record sales year fueled by both project and residential growth. Born in the UK in 1963, Bailey studied Medicine at The University of Sheffield, England before embarking upon a career spanning over 25 years in Sales and Retail Management in the European Home Improvement Industry before moving to the U.S. to take up his current role. Bailey is now in his tenth year with Poggenpohl, previous positions being Sales Director and Managing Director for Poggenpohl Group UK and Ireland. Through acquisition and development, Bailey was part of a team that grew the UK network into one of the most successful in the world. He has served the NKBA Board of Directors in 2015 as a Member-at-Large.
Emilee Chappell, TOTO USA Inc.
Emilee Chappell is the Director of Marketing for TOTO USA Inc., the world’s largest plumbing manufacturer and the recognized leader in performance design and innovation. Emilee is responsible for marketing strategies, communications and public relations activities for TOTO Americas. She graduated from the University of North Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and has been with TOTO and active in the kitchen and bath industry for over 10 years. She has served as both the Chair and Board Representative for the NKBA KBIS Advisory Council.
Denise Dick, CMKBD, Signature Kitchens by Design
Denise Dick, CMKBD, has been active in the kitchen and bath industry since 1984 as a designer, trainer, training development writer, and consultant. In 2002, she opened Signature Kitchens by Design, a full-service conceptual design agency that offers design, planning and comprehensive management of remodeling projects. She served on the NKBA Executive Committee as the Vice President in 2015, Treasurer in 2014 and Secretary in 2013. Denise has been active in her NKBA chapter from the beginning, serving as President, VP of Technology and Communications, VP of Membership, Secretary and Chapter Representative. Denise was also a judge for the local NARI Contractor of the Year Awards. She has served on the national NKBA level as a Region Director, member of the Board of Directors, the Education Task Force, the CKBP Certification Committee, the CKBP Exam Blueprint Specification Committee, and as a test writer for the CKBP exam.
Timothy Ebner, Perlick Corporation
Tim Ebner has spent more than 15 years working in the home space. He currently is the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at the Perlick Corporation, a leader in luxury residential undercounter refrigeration, beverage dispensing systems and total package bar equipment. A Wisconsin native, Tim is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and holds an MBA from Marquette University. With a background in mechanical engineering, Tim has been instrumental in product development and manufacturing, product engineering and market analysis throughout much of his career. Prior to joining Perlick in 2013, Tim held various executive positions at Master Lock and Enerpac.
Stephen Joseph
As a third-generation member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association, Steve Joseph is passionate about upscale kitchen design, function, and connectivity. At Dacor, Steve served as President, leading all business operations, including the design, development, and promotion of an array of industry leading kitchen appliances. These products included the award-winning Discovery iQ™ Series of smart, connected ovens and ranges, the first built-in WineStation® for residential use, and the first electronically controlled Gas TouchTop™. Steve is now putting his entrepreneurial energy and 15 years of luxury kitchen experience into a new venture related to the smart, connected kitchen and bath. He lives with his wife and three children in Newport Beach, California. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, spending time with his kids, travelling and exploring new technology.
Maria Stapperfenne, CMKBD, Tewksbury Kitchens & Baths
Maria Stapperfenne, CMKBD, started her career in kitchens and baths in 1992, becoming a Certified Kitchen Designer in 2005, a Certified Bath Designer in 2006, and a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer in 2015. She is the Manager of Tewksbury Kitchens & Baths, a division of Huston Lumber & Supply Co, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Trenton State College. Maria most recently served as the 2015 NKBA President and has been active in the Northern NJ Chapter, serving as President, Secretary, VP of Technology & Communications, and Chapter Representative. She has served as a Region Director, member of the Board of Directors, Certification Test Validation Committee, Nominating Committee, Industry Segment Task Force, Development Task Force, Governance Task Force, and a judge for the NKBA Design Competition.
Chris Terrill, HomeAdvisor
Chris Terrill joined HomeAdvisor as CEO in early 2011. Terrill is a seasoned Internet veteran and has specialized in online subscription continuity business models, working for top tier brands such as Nutrisystem.com and Blockbuster.com. Additionally, he spent six years with Match.com, most recently as vice president of new brands and verticals. In this position, Terrill launched new online brands, including Chemistry.com. Terrill served five years on the Board of Directors for Neat.com, the leading manufacturer of “digital filing cabinet” equipment and software storage, and currently serves on the board of The National Kitchen & Bath Association. Terrill earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his master’s from the University of Houston.
