The NKBA Releases Inaugural State of the Industry Report
Research provides strategic insights into kitchen and bath business
HACKETTSTOWN, NEW JERSEY (APRIL 20, 2015) — Professionals seeking a better understanding of the current status, future prospects and general sentiments of the kitchen and bath industry can now access a valuable tool in the new National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) State of the Industry Report. The report, based on a comprehensive survey, was conducted in partnership with RICKI (Research Institute for Cooking & Kitchen Intelligence). The full report is available for purchase by NKBA members and nonmembers at http://www.nkba.org/Store/ProductDetail.aspx?Type=Product&Code=MR1002. NKBA members receive significantly discounted pricing on the full report, and also have exclusive access to a free Executive Summary of the report, which can be found by logging into the Member Center at http://www.nkba.org/Login.aspx.
“The NKBA’s members represent all facets of the industry, including manufacturers, designers, remodelers, builders, dealers, distributors and installers,” explains CEO Bill Darcy. “As industry leaders, we are pleased to offer the ability to access this important research. This intelligence is essential to the planning required to ensure the ongoing growth and success of our members, and of the kitchen and bath industry as a whole.”
Feedback from a total of 640 kitchen and bath professionals provided the data for the first annual State of the Industry Report. The study set out to:
- understand business challenges faced by today’s professionals
- identify kitchen and bath products for which demand is increasing or declining
- measure characteristics of showrooms and assess how they may change in the near future
- understand current marketing tools and tactics and determine how successful they are for generating business.
“The report provides an excellent snapshot of our industry,” Darcy notes. “From the future of showrooms, to the average price of kitchen and bath remodels, to the best sources of new business: this report gives an excellent overview of what is happening today, and what our colleagues predict for the near future.”
He continues, “I am happy to report that the overall tone is positive – words like ‘improving’, ‘growing’ and ‘better’ indicate that our industry continues to be optimistic. However beyond those general sentiments, this report is also filled with specific data that is invaluable to anyone working in the industry.”
