What You Will Learn

Illumination has been available in cabinets for years.  Historical solutions have called for the Designer or Installer to coordinate with an Electrician in the field to install the lighting after the cabinets are installed. But integrated cabinet lighting is a key accessory that provides an opportunity for the Cabinet Manufacturer to both increase their revenue AND control the final look of the project.  The addition of illumination becomes a potential differentiator to Designers and Consumers regarding the ‘level’ of cabinets the manufacturer supplies.

Many Cabinet Makers retreat from the topic of “illumination” often having perceptions they can’t do this work.  Some of the issues raised are:

  • Installation of the lighting is difficult and requires high technical skills.
  • Preparation requirements of the cabinets is unknown.
  • Product choices in the market are intimidating.
  • It’s “easier” to let the Designer or Installer deal with lighting.

This session will answer the above concerns about integrated illumination while providing the Cabinet Manufacturer with another advantage in the market to increase revenue while simplifying the process for their clients including Designers, Dealers, Installers, and even the Electrician.

During this session, you will:

  • Examine ways to overcome manufacturer hesitancy to include integrated illumination in production.
  • Provide an understanding of the cabinet construction and illumination options to successfully integrate lighting in cabinets.
  • Educate on the benefits of integrated illumination for Manufacturers AND for their clients including the Designers, Dealers, and Installers.
