What You Will Learn

Join us as we look back at the three trend stories of Future Vision Volume 2 – Engineered Design, No Boundaries, and Fluidity and validate (or update) the colors, materials, and finishes (CMF) predicted to influence and drive design.

We’ll review each of the trend stories and explore updated CMF mood boards. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about real life interior spaces as evidenced by the CMF trends and various consumer groups.

During this session, you will:

  • Explore trend predicting terminology such as forecasting, tracking and validation.
  • Recognize the Pyramid of Influence and S-Curve and how we use these tools in mapping trends.
  • Dive into predicted colors and discuss where palettes need to be tweaked, and how colors are being utilized in color combinations.
  • Review predicted materials by trend story and the CMF S-Curve for each story.
  • Discuss where materials have been validated or are still evolving or progressing through different consumer groups.
