What You Will Learn
Yale Professor Stephen Kellert has said that “biophilic design is a modern take on feng shui.” In these current times of financial uncertainty, health concerns and more people working remotely from their homes “Biophilic design expresses our love of life (biophilia) in our homes and work spaces for greater wellbeing. It’s never been more relevant, nor more desirable, than now”.
This course will introduce you to the concept of Biophilia and how to incorporate it into residential homes and commercial or medical offices to put you or your clients in touch with nature. Areas covered will include materials, color, views and natural light.
We’ll also touch on the links between one’s home, health and happiness via environmental research and neuroscience.
During this session, you will:
- Gain an understanding how the concept of Biophilia works and the science behind it.
- Learn how Biophilic design can complement your K&B design practice.
- Learn some quick and cost-effective tips to incorporating Biophilia in kitchen and bath spaces to see and feel its impact.
