The National Kitchen & Bath Association’s 2018-2019 Kitchen and Bath Market Outlook Study estimates the value of products and materials sold in the residential kitchen and bath market in 2017, as well as provides market forecasts for 2018 and 2019.

The full Outlook report provides market size estimates and forecasts for nine kitchen product categories (appliances, cabinets, countertops, flooring, backsplashes, sinks, lighting, ventilation and faucets) and 12 bathroom product categories (flooring, showers/ shower doors, vanities, bathtubs, countertops, toilets, sinks, lighting, faucets, ventilation and medicine cabinets).

This study was developed relying on various sources, including secondary published market information as well as interviews conducted among key professional segments. Data from the 2017 report and that collected in the 2018 survey were combined to generate the projections for 2018 and forecasts for 2019.  The new housing projections were calibrated with actual housing construction data and changes in the value of new housing construction, while projections for the remodeling segment were calibrated based on the Harvard University Joint Center for Housing Studies’ estimates of remodeling expenditures.
