The NKBA fielded a special benchmark survey among members from March 18 to 24 to determine the initial impact of COVID-19 on the residential kitchen and bath industry. The purpose of this research report is to provide an objective assessment of the impact that COVID-19 is having on the U.S. kitchen and bath industry – both at the onset of this health/financial crisis and throughout subsequent phases of recovery. The nearly 1000 respondents included designers, building/construction professionals, manufacturers and those in retail/sales. Responses were divided by segment since the impact and challenges differ by group. The goal was to provide a snapshot of member sentiments on this evolving situation.
Social distancing and financial uncertainty are the primary reasons kitchen and bath retailers are reporting that 44% of their current or upcoming projects are delayed and 16% are cancelled.
