Description

The 2018 NKBA Design Trends Study surveyed 822 designers, remodelers, architects, dealers and manufacturers who are on the cutting edge of kitchen and bathroom design. The results of this year’s study indicate that sleek, contemporary styling, rustic farmhouse flavor, and the clean lines and delicate curves of the transitional kitchen are what’s trending now. In bath design, both transitional and contemporary styling have surpassed traditional in terms of consumer popularity.
The findings from this study spotlight dominant preferences — the kitchen and bathroom styles that are most popular among consumers; the materials, finishes, colors, appliances and lighting fixtures most in demand; how technology is being incorporated into kitchen and bathroom designs, and much more. This report also identifies emerging design characteristics — the styles, materials, finishes, colors, appliances and lighting fixtures that are not yet dominant preferences, but are growing in popularity and are expected to become the next hottest trends in kitchen and bath design.
