NKBA | KBIS’ newly inducted Thirty Under 30 Class of 2024 put their design acumen and teamwork skills to good use during KBIS as they roamed the massive show floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center in search of products offering the right combination of innovation and aesthetic appeal to earn them a place among the winners of this year’s 30s Choice Awards.

The young and enthusiastic Thirty Under 30 members divided into six teams as they visited KBIS booths to find their top product choices in six categories. They then presented their picks at NEXTStage on February 29 during an event hosted by Alena Capra, CMKBD, Founder and Principal of Alena Capra Designs, who served as NEXTStage host for the third day of KBIS.

And the Winners Are…

The following products/brands were selected as 30s Choice Awards winners:

Color: Concretti

Team 1, consisting of 30s inductees Anna Blinova, Ashley de Boer, Valerie Furazhenko, Abigail Stojke and Jamie Stoneking, were asked to choose a product that showcased a creative use of color. Their choice? Concretti, a Las Vegas-based maker of sinks, planters, tubs and other outdoor living products manufactured with a uniquely engineered concrete blend comprised of cement, sand, aggregate and pigments sourced from local Nevada quarries and other U.S. locales. The team loved the depth and breadth of colors available, which included kale, eggplant, latte, mustard and peach.

Sustainability: Silestone HybriQ+ Technology

Team 2, whose members were Samantha Kunka, Brittany McQueen, Lyndsey Seddon, Luke Sweigart and Devorah Werner, were on the hunt for a product that met their criteria for sustainability. They selected Silestone HybriQ+ Technology, which created a high-performance product produced through sustainable manufacturing that uses 99% recycled water, 100% renewable energy, zero percent water discharge and a minimum of 20% recycled materials. The company introduced HybriQ+ in 2020 to drastically reduce the percentage of crystalline silica — which poses a health hazard to workers during fabrication — in Silestone. As of 2022, the entire Silestone portfolio is manufactured sustainably with HybriQ+, resulting in a maximum of 40% silica in its composition.

Outdoor Living: Tidelli Chairs

Team 3, consisting of Ruth Barnes, Rachel Burger, Kelsey Kinniry, Kiersten Reed and Katie Sneed, focused on products designed to enhance the backyard experience. They chose Tidelli Outdoor Living. The brand’s Brazilian-made chairs are handcrafted to offer great durability and are available in a wide variety of customization options featuring diverse materials (in particular, nautical ropes) and colors. The team loved the collection’s attention to craftsmanship and its inspirational color palette.

Smart Home: GE Profile 28-inch Smart Front-Load Washer/Dryer Combo

Team 4, whose members were Victor Lebegue, Kaitlyn Martel, Danielle Noah, Alexis Novacek and Priscilla Saucedo, chose the GE Profile 28-inch Smart Front-Load Washer/Dryer Combo because it is not only compact and efficient, but it also offers technology that continuously improves based on AI-driven data — all at a competitive price point. The unit offers 14 cycles and five rinse temperatures, a four tray dispenser, five heat selections in the dry cycle, ventless drying and quiet design for a non-disruptive laundry experience. It also uses a standard 120-volt plug and has a two hour wash/dry time.

Living in Place: Kohler Armrest Accessory + Manual Bidet Seats

Team 5, consisting of Sophia Amiano, Olivia McMurtrie, Isaac Muskat and Abby Via, were on the hunt for a product designed for Living in Place. Their choice: Kohler’s Armrest Accessory and Manual Bidet Seats. Team members cited both products as “seamless safety accessories” for Kohler’s standard toilet seat offerings that “ensure a cohesive design without compromising on style, finish or function.” They noted that the Manual Bidet Seats require no electricity, are easily installed, are ergonomically designed for comfort and have the following features: nightlight, antimicrobial surface, deodorizing ability and quiet-close technology.

Wellness/Health: Brizo Mystix™ Elemental Experience Steam Shower

Team 6, whose members were Jake Hohman, Sydney Melnyk, Chrystalla Neocleous, Cortney Smith and Kristin Tabor, focused on the Wellness/Health category. Their choice was the Brizo Mystix™ Elemental Experience Steam Shower. They loved its advanced steam generator that precisely regulates the steam environment, presets that can be tailored to individual user preferences and the product’s water efficiency. They also lauded the chromotherapy feature with a choice of vibrant colors — for states of balance, awakening, radiance, bliss, tranquility, harmony and renewal — as well as the variety of finishes to coordinate with other Brizo faucets and accessories.
