The future of the kitchen-and-bath industry rests with its young designers, executives and craftspeople, and once again NKBA | KBIS is shining the spotlight on some of the brightest talent currently making their mark in design, remodeling, sales and manufacturing by naming them to its Thirty Under 30 Class of 2024. Now in its 12th year, the program honors and elevates rising stars based on their career or educational achievements, leadership and commitment to excellence and continuing professional development.
Talent, Passion and Entrepreneurship
As these 30 talented inductees accepted their honor at KBIS 2024 in Las Vegas, they joined the 330 alumni of previous classes in representing excellence in the kitchen and bath industry. Each has demonstrated a true passion for the products and projects they work on daily, eight are young entrepreneurs running their own businesses and four have already earned theirCKBD certification. The majority are also active in their local NKBA | KBIS chapters, which in this class stretched from the Metro New York Chapter to Canada’s Vancouver Chapter.
The Class of 2024 was welcomed during a ceremony on February 27 at KBIS NEXTStage by Michel Smith Boyd, founder of Atlanta-based Smith Boyd Interiors, television host and incoming member of NKBA | KBIS’s first ever Design Council, who introduced the ceremony’s emcee, Kelly Buchsbaum, NKBA | KBIS’ Senior Manager of Chapter Relations.
“Gathering these high-achieving young professionals together during the past 12 years of the program has given us the ability to view our industry through fresh eyes,” said Buchsbaum. “The networking and mentorship that takes place with the Thirties each year, both at KBIS and in the months to come, are a benefit to all our members, and the industry at large.”
As in past years, the 2024 inductees were chosen by a selection committee comprised of Thirty Under 30 alumni.
The Class of 2024’s first undertaking will be to select the annual 30s Choice Awards, which spotlight the “Best of” products and innovations at KBIS 2024 in several categories. These will be announced at the NEXTStage on Thursday, February 29 at 10 am.
Thirty Under 30 Inductees — Class of 2024
KBIS attendees had the opportunity to meet these exceptional young talents as they were formally inducted into the Class of 2024 at the NEXTStage at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Upon receiving their award, they were individually congratulated by Smith Boyd and later posed for a class photo.
