NKBA kicked off its year-long 60th Anniversary at KBIS 2023, celebrating the association’s impact on the K&B industry over the decades since its founding in 1963, with a surprise appearance by Kool & The Gang at NKBA’s Kitchen & Bath Design + Industry Awards. NKBA continued the 60s theme and its 60th year celebration with a vibrant booth at the show, which featured special programming and activations, colorful 60th Anniversary merchandise and a “Sweet Station” filled with candy brands that were popular in 1963. 

The celebration of NKBA’s 60th Anniversary continued a few days later when NKBA CEO Bill Darcy and NKBA EVP & CSO Suzie Williford toasted to commemorate the conclusion of KBIS 2023 and the beginning of NKBA’s year-long 60th Anniversary on the KBIS NEXTStage in the Las Vegas Convention Center. NKBA leadership and staff, as well as KBIS attendees, gathered together for the toast that commemorated NKBA’s present, past and future.

Throughout the year, NKBA will host a series of 60th Anniversary-themed special events leading up to KBIS 2024, held in Las Vegas on February 27-29. These include chapter celebrations, regional events, giveaways and a dedicated landing page. NKBA CEO Bill Darcy summed up the start of NKBA’s 60th Anniversary best during his toast at the conclusion of KBIS 2023. “Raise your glass,” said Darcy. “Let’s all toast to 60 years of NKBA and its members being leaders, supporters and innovators in the Kitchen and Bath Industry. Cheers!”
