“A Celestial Sanctuary”

Large Traditional Bath

1st Place Shea Pumarejo, CMKBD, Younique Designs, San Antonio, Tex.

Texas South Plains Chapter

Borrowing space from an adjacent storage closet, Shea Pumarejo, CMKBD, was able to create a spacious and luxurious sanctuary for her fashion-forward clients, who wanted to re-create the feeling of luxury hotel baths they enjoyed on their travels. The dramatic black-and-white scheme features gold metal accents in starburst mirrors, faucets, lighting fixtures and various trimmings. Shots of lilac punctuate the quartz, which is used on walls, floor tile and on the entrance to the shower — roomy enough for two. A shower bench is covered in black Nero marble, which is repeated in the wainscot, shower molding and behind a freestanding pewter soaking tub, serving as a focal point. Separate floating sink vanities offer generous storage and plenty of elbow room, and smart glass converts from clear to frosted, allowing ample natural light in the space or providing privacy with the flip of a switch.

Resources: Cabinets: Forged Oaks Custom Cabinetry; Bathtub: Baths of Distinction; Faucets/Fittings, Sinks: Waterworks; Toilet: Kohler; Flooring, Wall, Ceiling: Artistic Tile; Lighting: Arteriors, Visual Comfort; Countertop: Lilac Marble; Smart Technology: Smart Glass window.
