Sculptural architecture and design elements always feature in Sandra Diaz-Velasco’s creations, and her “Sunny Penthouse” large primary bath is no exception. She followed the building’s curvature to shape the interior, designed a custom “infinite hat” chandelier-mirror suspended over the center island, which features double sinks and storage, and used a matte gold finish on faucets and hardware. She combined the bathroom with an original closet to create the generous space, adding a window to flood the area with natural light. Sustainable materials include recycled wood cabinets, and the entire space is integrated to the smart-home system, including window blackout and lighting activated by motion sensors, so the space is only illuminated when in use. A stunning custom blue wall panel brings the ocean in, and a floor strip of LED lighting subtly separates the suite’s wet and dry areas.
