51 percent of homeowners install faucets with high-tech features, such as water efficiency (24 percent) and touch-only or touch-free activation (23 percent), and 39 percent install appliances with high-tech features, including Wi-Fi connectivity and smartphone/tablet controls (25 percent and 24 percent, respectively). Driven by an increased emphasis on wellness in the home, the market for lighting geared to circadian rhythms was $261 million in 2022 and is expected to reach $1.12 billion by 2030, growing at an annual rate of 20 percent. (Data Bridge Market Research)
With increased emphasis on universal design/aging in place, the global market for assistance devices in the bathroom – including commodes, bath lifts, bath aids, shower chairs, toilet seat raisers and grab bars — stood at $5 billion in 2022 and is projected to grow 6.4 percent annually through 2030 to $8.23 billion. According to the Research Institute For Cooking and Kitchen Intelligence (RICKI), 60 percent of American homeowners use digital voice assistants in the kitchen at least once a week. Among them, 40 percent use voice assistance for cooking or other kitchen activities, and just 10 percent use them to control kitchen products. The top five uses are looking up recipes, surfing the web while hanging out in the kitchen, shopping for groceries online, getting help with cooking, and controlling kitchen appliances of faucets.
