Summer Fun, Fall Connections & an Exciting Finish to 2026
The NKBA Metro NY Chapter is wrapping up an incredible summer and heading into a busy final quarter filled with education, connection and celebration.
As summer comes to a close and we head into the final quarter of 2026, the NKBA Metro NY Chapter has plenty to celebrate, and even more to look forward to!
LOOKING BACK AT Q3
Summer is traditionally a quieter time for our chapter, giving our members an opportunity to enjoy vacations, family time and everything the season has to offer. We always love seeing everyone’s summer adventures and catching up when we get back together!
While we didn’t host an official chapter event in July, our Chapter Sponsor, Appliance World, kept the summer fun going with its annual Summer Soirée.
Many of our members joined in, and as always, it was a blast! Between live paella, food trucks, great music and even better company, there were smiles all around throughout the evening.
TRIVIA TAKES OVER AUGUST
A new idea. A little friendly competition. And one very successful night.
In August, we tried something completely new:
NKBA Metro NY Trivia Night!
The idea came courtesy of our Secretary/Treasurer, Shelly McNiccolls, and her well-known love of trivia. After months of trying to convince the board to join her for a trivia night, we decided to do her one better: give her an entire trivia night and invite the chapter!
It turned out to be a great decision.
About 40 members packed into a local ale house, split into teams and put their knowledge to the test. We even coordinated with the trivia host to sneak in a few kitchen and design questions, which had the room erupting in cheers when our members got them right.
(Thankfully, we represented the industry well!)
The evening was filled with laughs, friendly competition and plenty of chapter camaraderie.
It was such a hit that Trivia Night will definitely be making a return in 2027!
COUNTRY COMES TO COSENTINO
Boots, barbecue and line dancing kicked off the fall season.
September brought the start of fall and the beginning of a jam-packed calendar for the remainder of the year.
We gathered at Cosentino for a rodeo-themed evening featuring country hits, a DJ and professional dance instructors who taught our members three different line dances.
And we have to say: our members were impressive!
Add in some on-theme barbecue, a fantastic atmosphere and another great opportunity to spend time together, and we had all the ingredients for a memorable night.
Based on the response, this is another event we’ll certainly be looking to bring back!
LOOKING AHEAD: Q4 IS PACKED!
We may be approaching the end of the year, but NKBA Metro NY isn’t slowing down.
Our Q4 calendar is loaded with education, networking, collaboration and celebration.
OCTOBER 8 | Surface Matters: Tile in Design
Brooklyn Tile
We kick things off on October 8 with “Surface Matters: Tile in Design” at Brooklyn Tile.
Hosted inside the beautiful new showroom of one of our Chapter Sponsors, this presentation promises to be both enlightening and engaging. We’re excited to gather in their new space and dive deeper into the role of tile in today’s design landscape.
NOVEMBER 5 | The Art of Specifying Quartz
Cambria
November brings not one, but two chapter events!
First, on November 5, we head to Cambria for the CEU presentation “The Art of Specifying Quartz.”
Our friends at Cambria always bring valuable educational insights to our members, and we’re looking forward to another great learning opportunity this year.
NOVEMBER 19 | Friendsgiving
East End Interiors | In Collaboration with IDS Long Island
Then, on November 19, we’re joining forces with IDS Long Island for a special Friendsgiving at East End Interiors.
This will be our first time hosting this collaborative event, and we’re excited for an evening centered around friendship, gratitude and celebrating the season together.

Of course, no NKBA Metro NY year would be complete without our Annual Holiday Party!
DECEMBER 3 | NKBA Metro NY Annual Holiday Party
The Piermont
On December 3, we’ll once again gather at the beautiful Piermont to celebrate the holiday season and another fantastic year for our chapter.
Expect great company, festive cheer, delicious food and music from DJ Xcel throughout the night.
Our Holiday Party is consistently one of our biggest events of the year, and it sells out, so be sure to grab your tickets early once registration opens!
AROUND THE NKBA
There’s plenty happening beyond our chapter events as well.
KBIS Registration Is Open
KBIS registration is officially open, and September is KBIS Month!
Throughout September, registration for KBIS is FREE for chapter members. If you’re planning to join us in Las Vegas, now is the perfect time to register.
NKBA Metro NY Is Being Featured!
We’re also excited to share that the NKBA Metro NY Chapter will soon be featured on NKBA.org!
Keep an eye out for a special feature highlighting our chapter, which will also appear in National’s October 15 NKBA newsletter.
LET’S FINISH 2026 STRONG
From summer soirées and trivia battles to line dancing, education, Friendsgiving and our annual Holiday Party, there’s a lot to be excited about as we head into the final months of the year.
What makes all of these events special isn’t simply where we gather or what’s on the agenda.
It’s the people.
The people who show up, connect, learn, laugh and continue to make the NKBA Metro NY Chapter such a vibrant community.
