By Maureen Klein 15 NKBA members made their way downtown to 166 Avenue of the Americas on December 17th, to give a hand at the God’s Love We Deliver (GLWD) headquarters. The crew helped pack meals which were then frozen, and later would be delivered by other volunteers to those people who, because of their illness, are unable to provide or prepare meals for themselves. The services of this non-sectarian organization are provided free without regard to income and are available to neighbors in need who live in NYC or Hudson County, New Jersey. GLWD relies on the help of volunteers — more than 20,000 strong every year. We were just a drop in the bucket, but every volunteer helps to allow GLWD to cook and deliver over 80,000 meals each week!
