Melisa Jahić embraced her inner entrepreneur at a young age. “I ran many ‘businesses’ as a child,” she explains. “I was a hairdresser, an artist, a banker—just to name a few. My parents would help me set up my ‘business’ by giving me all the supplies I needed, and then I would get ‘clients,’ aka family members, to join in on the fun.” Her mom and dad, an architect and electrician, respectively, also enrolled her in art school at a very young age, where Melisa did everything from pottery to painting.

Now a New York-based Designer Account Executive at Sherwin-Williams, catering to the residential design community in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island, Melisa graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Finance and minors in Sociology and Human Rights. Immersed in the world of design and construction from a young age, she was always interested in what’s required to make projects come together.

“Taking on this career with Sherwin-Williams, I get the best of both the design and construction industry, with a wonderful view into the world of kitchen and bath design,” she says of her “dream role.” Her favorite part of her job? “Watching a designer’s idea come to life, from conception to implementation, and seeing the world through their lens.”
