It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of Hank Schmidt's passing. Hank was a part of the founding members of this chapter and a long time leader within our community. In addition to being a community leader, he was amongst the earliest sets of NKBA members to obtain the Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer certifications. We as a chapter will forever be impacted by the hard work and dedication Hank exhibited in his work, for the K&B industry, and this NKBA Kentuckiana community.

 

One of my personal favorite memories of Hank comes from our chapter Holiday party just this last year (2021). Shortly after walking in the door we asked him to participate in guessing how many ornaments were in a glass vase. He took one quick look at the vase and told me a number - as the person who set it up, I was in shock - he guessed correctly the exact number. And to me that was Hank, always prepared, quick and concise in response. I know many of you have great memories that involve Hank, and I would love to hear them all.
