The Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) 2025 was nothing short of a transformative experience for anyone in the design and construction world. From bold color statements to innovative textures and cutting-edge materials, this year’s show provided a glimpse into the future of design. As the premier event for the kitchen and bath industry, KBIS once again proved to be a platform for creativity and innovation, showcasing the latest trends that are poised to shape the next wave of interior design.

One of the most striking trends observed at KBIS 2025 was the surge of color in all aspects of kitchen and bath design. Whether it was the vibrant hues of cabinetry, the bold tones in appliances, or the colorful accents in tiles, it’s clear that color is making a huge comeback. No longer are we confined to neutral palettes; designers and manufacturers are embracing rich, saturated shades that make a statement. Expect to see kitchens and bathrooms filled with deep blues, emerald greens, and even fiery reds. The trend is all about creating spaces that are personal, expressive, and truly one-of-a-kind.

Texture was another theme that stood out at the show. Everywhere you looked, texture was taking center stage. From fluted and leathered countertops to intricate details on hoods, bathtubs, and tiles, the use of texture is no longer just an accent—it’s a defining feature. Textured surfaces add depth and dimension to spaces, inviting touch and interaction. It was exciting to see how designers are using different finishes to evoke a sense of luxury and comfort, whether through tactile surfaces on counters or unique patterns on walls. This year, it’s all about creating spaces that engage multiple senses and offer a more immersive experience.

Finally, porcelain made a major impact at KBIS 2025. The use of large-format porcelain slabs was everywhere, with designers showcasing these stunning pieces for everything from countertops to fireplace surrounds and shower walls. Porcelain’s versatility, durability, and aesthetic appeal make it the perfect material for creating seamless, striking surfaces. These large-format slabs provide a sleek, modern look that can transform an entire room, giving it a sophisticated and polished feel. As this trend continues to grow, we can expect to see more designers and homeowners incorporating large-format porcelain into their spaces for both functionality and style.
We also want to highlight and give a special shoutout to one of our very own members, Kenzie Rediger with Stone Showcase, on her prestigious award- NKBA Thirty Under 30 Class of 2025! The Thirty under 30 is designed to celebrate outstanding young professionals who possess the passion, creativity and brilliance to be the voice of the next generation of kitchen and bath experts. We are so proud of Kenzie and honored to have her as a member of our chapter.
Our chapter also received a Best Chapter award- "Best Chapter Student-Focused Event!" for our 2024 Student Day. We are so grateful and humbled to be recognized nationally for our chapter and our efforts to create an inspiring, active organization for our members and students.
KBIS 2025 was a powerful reminder of how the kitchen and bath industry continues to evolve, pushing boundaries with new materials, colors, and textures. It’s clear that 2025 will be a year defined by vibrant design, tactile experiences, and the continued rise of porcelain as a leading material. We are so proud to be part of such an incredible industry, and we are so thankful for all of our outstanding members for helping us be an amazing chapter!
