The "Natural Stone, the Not so basic, Basics!" course is designed to provide valuable information on how a natural stone gets from the ground to your jobsite, and why basic technical information is important before specifying products for your next project. We will cover various points such as stone formation, production, industry standards, and general characteristics of natural stone.
The main point to take away from this course is setting realistic expectations for yourself and your customer regarding the appearance and performance of the materials that you select. At the end of the 1-hour course attendees will have a better understanding of natural stone formation and how it affects product performance; have basic knowledge of quarrying and production; understand how production affects industry standards for dimensional tolerances; identify suitable applications and potential product failures based on physical characteristics.
Join us for KBIS '23 highlights, new Board members introductions, networking, food, and learning! See you at Emser Tile Tucson on March 9th from 5:30pm-7:00pm.
