- Step Four: Complete and pass the 100-question virtual exam within 5 months of purchase.
- Step Five: Complete and pass the kitchen & bathroom drawing exam within 5 months of purchase.
Requirements
To be eligible to obtain your CKBD Certification, you must demonstrate that you meet the education and work experience requirements by completing the CKBD Application.
CKBD applicants must document a minimum of four (4) years of experience. A minimum of two (2) years must be dedicated to full-time residential kitchen/bath design, including design execution or project management. The remaining two (2) years can consist of full-time kitchen/bath design or related industry experience. You can view the certification requirements here.
You must earn a 75% or better on all three parts of the exam (the multiple choice exam, kitchen drawings and bath drawings) to successfully pass the exam. If necessary, you may retake the multiple-choice exam one time before the 5 months of purchase deadline. There are no retakes for the drawing portions of the exam. The exam deadline for both the multiple-choice exam and submission of exam drawings is within 5 months of purchase.
