Learn about a past Hall of Fame inductee. By Loren Kessell

Each year, the NKBA calls for nominations for the Kitchen & Bath Hall of Fame, to recognize professionals who have contributed to the growth, integrity, innovation and highest standards of the Association and the kitchen and bath industry as a whole. Nominations are open from August 15 to September 30, and if a nominee is chosen for induction, a ceremony will be held at KBIS 2023 in Las Vegas during the Kitchen & Bath Design + Industry Awards.

We’re highlighting NKBA Hall of Fame members each week, and today’s are Michaeal, Stanley and Tony Joseph. They are the founding family of Dacor, and all three are in the Hall of Fame. In 1948, Stanley developed the first fully self-contained ventilating hood for residential use, under his company name, Stanthony, and he made the first electric barbecue for residential use in 1956. His sons, Tony and Michael, took the industry a step further by creating new patents for kitchen appliances. Those creations included a dual-fuel oven cell and a 30-inch-wide dishwasher, which remain highly innovative to this day. Stanley was inducted in 1989, and his sons in 2004.
