Find out what’s changed since KBIS was last in Vegas. By Loren Kessell
After two years away, KBIS returns to Las Vegas in 2023! (Registration opens Thursday, Sept. 1 here.) Since KBIS was last in Vegas, there’s been a few updates that include the expansion of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) and new modes of transportation.
Below are some highlights of what’s been added since 2020:
- New Convention Space: West Hall Expansion.
With this renovation, the West Hall added 1.4 million additional square feet. Upgrades include an expanded lobby featuring the Lobby Spectacular screen, 600,000 square feet of technologically advanced exhibit space, 328,000 square feet of column-free space and a 14,000-square-foot outdoor terrace. There is also 150,000 square feet of new meeting room space. - New Transportation: Vegas Loop at Las Vegas Convention Center.
Elon Musk’s underground transportation, the Vegas Loop at Las Vegas Convention Center, connects the existing LVCC space (North/Central/South halls) with the West Hall and can shuttle more than 4,400 riders per hour through two mile-long tunnels. Attendees can now travel in Tesla vehicles between halls within two minutes. The Vegas Loop also opened at the Resorts World passenger station, providing access to and from LVCC. - New Place to Stay: Resorts World.
Resorts World opened June 24, 2021, and it’s the first new casino-resort to be built on the Strip in more than a decade. The project totaled $4.3 billion making it the most expensive casino built in Nevada. Key features include high-tech LED screens, three hotels, nine pools, 17,000 square feet of gaming space, 70,000 square feet of dining and retail space and 250,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space. - New Place to Eat: Bedford by Martha Stewart.
Martha Stewart’s new restaurant The Bedford is coming to the Paris Las Vegas. It’s a replica of Stewart’s 1925 farmhouse with less than 200 seats, and the culinary inspiration is drawn from love of gardens and French cooking. The menu will feature her signature dishes and utilize locally sourced ingredients. - New Place to Have Fun: Delilah Supper Club.
Delilah, a speakeasy-style supper club in the Wynn, is inspired by 1950s Las Vegas showrooms. It attracts a late night party scene with entertainment ranging from DJs to jazz musicians. Guests are greeted with Roaring 20’s energy, fine dining and cocktails. - New Place to Shop: Resorts World Retail Stores.
Resorts World added an exciting lineup of retail stores including a new Fred Segal location, Judith Leiber and Hervé Léger. See the full list of retail venues here. - New Show to See: Bat Out of Hell – The Musical.
Bat Out of Hell – The Musical features the music of Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman, and it will open September 27 in Paris Las Vegas. Enjoy a night of magic, excitement and rock ’n’ roll. Purchase tickets here.
KBIS 2023 registration opens Thursday, Sept. 1 here and all NKBA members can register for a free expo pass during the month of September.
