Getting to Know NKBA Board Member Ken Roberts. By Steven Campeau

The Board of Directors leads the Association in carrying out its strategic plan, hires the CEO, holding this person accountable, and focuses on matters of the Association policy at a high level. This important national volunteer role is composed of nine individuals who serve four-year terms. The 2022 national election cycle, happening September 1 through September 30, will include two open positions for the Board of Directors. If interested in applying for one of these open positions, go here starting September 1.  Today we’re featuring Ken Roberts, President of Delta Faucet Company.

How did you get your start in the kitchen and bath industry and/or NKBA?

I went to work for Delta Faucet Company as a manufacturing engineer right out of MBA school.

What National Committee are you currently on and why did you want to volunteer for it?

The NKBA national board. I want to support the continued development of the kitchen and bath industry.

What is your favorite part of being an NKBA member and/or national volunteer?

I love being a part of all the training and development work that is being done to support the industry.

Do you have a current trend or product that members just have to know more about?

Matte black faucets continue to trend. In many cases matte black has overtaken chrome.

What inspires you about the kitchen and bath industry and/or in your life?

The kitchen and the bath are probably the two most important rooms for making a relaxing and restoring home. Our work to transform people’s kitchens and baths helps improve people’s lives.

Bonus Questions:

Where is your favorite vacation spot and does that influence your home decor?

I prefer to get away anywhere that is outdoors. My walls and shelves are decorated with memories of those trips, and my preferred color scheme leans toward outdoor colors.

What are you most looking forward to this year, personally or professionally? (or both!)

Professionally, I am looking forward to returning to stable supply chains so that we can all focus on delivering amazing kitchens and baths without worrying about when the materials will be available.

What topic or area are you most passionate about in the kitchen and bath industry?

I am most passionate about creating a frictionless experience in the kitchen and bath.  Everything in a person’s kitchen or bath should just work without thinking about it so the person can focus on living their life.
