NKBA Summit: The Luxury Bath | Virtual Conference | June 22-23. Register Now >
- What are the best appliances for outdoor spaces? Select appliances and materials that are rated for outdoor use and weather resistance.
- Where’s the sun? Don’t face the seating toward the west if the sun will be in everyone’s eyes any time in the afternoon until sundown.
- Is there a prevailing wind direction? If so, do you need a windscreen or some other type of protection?
- Where to sit? Seating should not be positioned at the back side of the grill.
- How many guests? What is the minimum and maximum number of people you’ll typically be hosting and what can your space comfortably accommodate.
- Do trenches need to be dug? Determine whether utilities (gas, water, plumbing/drainage lines, propane, electric) are easily accessible. Be mindful of the frost line in your region of the country.
- How can I streamline for the homeowners? Create zones for cooking, prep, plating/garnishing and serving/entertaining.
