A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Madden began her career in publishing, wrote several books, including Interior Visions in 1988, Kitchens in 1993, A Room of Her Own in 1997, and The Soul of a House — Decorating with Warmth, Style and Comfort in 2015.
