    • SKS IN TEXAS: Signature Kitchen Suite was chosen as the exclusive kitchen partner for the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Dallas and the House Beautiful Whole Home, just outside of San Antonio. Each show home features the SKS 48-inch Dual Fuel Pro Range with sous vide, gas and induction serving as each kitchen’s focal point. Also featured are the brand’s Undercounter Convertible Refrigerator/Freezer Drawers, which are new to the market, offering flexibility with two drawers that operate independently of each other and utilize Multi-Temp™ settings across six modes, including pantry, fridge, bar, seafood, meat and the option to convert to freezer.     • SPECIAL KBIS REGISTRATION RATES EXTENDED: The promotional period for KBIS registration has been extended to Oct. 15. NKBA members may register for the expo only at no cost, and non-members can sign up for $50 through the period. Spouses/significant others are free. Rates go up Oct. 16. The KBIS pass allows access to the IBS show floor— one badge, two great shows, that together form Design & Construction Week, the largest and most comprehensive expo dedicated to kitchen and bath design and remodeling and residential building. Sign-up is also available for the NKBA Voices from the Industry Conference VFTI features 80+ sessions across six categories, including on-demand sessions available after the show.

 

    • GE, GOOGLE IN DEAL: GE Appliances and Google Cloud have signed a multi-year partnership to build innovative technologies to enhance the consumer experience in the kitchen and throughout the home. As GEA continues its evolution, it turned to Google Cloud for its expertise in data, analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning to accelerate this process — and will integrate these capabilities into its entire appliance development process, from ideation to the production line. Together, the companies will develop the next generation of smart appliances with Google Cloud Vision AI.     • CAMBRIA, ROOM & BOARD TEAM UP: Business of Home reports that home furnishings retailer Room & Board and quartz surfaces producer Cambria are collaborating on a line of home goods and handcrafted tabletop items. The collection, available online and in Room & Board stores across the country, features coasters, a Lazy Susan, bookends and serving boards available in several Cambria designs, including Big Sur Mist, Brittanicca Gold, Foggy City and Mammoth Cave. Cambria sponsored NKBA’s virtual Luxury Summit in June, and sessions are available on demand through the end of the year.

 

    • ENERGY AWARD FOR BEKO: Beko Home Appliances’ residential induction ranges have earned an ENERGY STAR® Emerging Technology Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. With this award, all of Beko’s product categories have now been Energy Star-approved as contributing to reduced emissions and a healthier environment. This induction technology has been tested to have an integrated annual energy consumption less than or equal to 125 kWh/year.     • COSENTINO’S RENEWED ROOM: Global surfacing producer Cosentino has opened a renovated showroom space in Chicago’s design district — the first North American location in its international series of downtown showrooms, which gear the shopping experience toward supporting and inspiring designers. Business of Home reports the 4,600-square-foot space includes an atelier, an augmented reality design area, and to-scale digital displays with imagery of the brand’s offer, allowing the design community to view their work in context alongside products outside Cosentino’s offerings.

    • DALTILE LAUNCHES NEW COUTURE DESIGN: Daltile has introduced the newest addition to its Couture Collection. A part of Daltile’s Panoramic Porcelain Surfaces extra-large slab program, the Couture line includes special-order and stocked products that feature runway-inspired style. Daltile’s Couture Collection features striking patterns on large-scale porcelain slabs. The newest product in this line is Sapphire Status, a deep blue marble design that connects a space with nature.       Wilsonart Thinscape Performance Tops Counters

 

    • THE SKINNY ON WILSONART: Wilsonart has expanded its THINSCAPE® Performance Tops Performance Tops, the brand’s line of European-inspired, ultra-thin countertops. The new styles include Solenne Marble, a bright white stone with gray-to-charcoal and brown-to-bronze veins, featuring a Luster finish with a semi-gloss sheen and smooth surface, and Tortona Quartzite, a large-scale stone design with subtle detailing that maintains a natural fissured look. It’s also available in a Luster finish. Wilsonart, a leading engineered surfaces company, was founded by Kitchen & Bath Hall of Famer Ralph Wilson, a laminate industry pioneer.

 

    • COLOR ME GREEN: Sherwin-Williams has crowned Evergreen Fog as its 2022 color of the year. The shade is a soothing gray-green meant to be calming and subtle. The company says it pairs with other earth tones and evoke an organic spirit. For more, visit Sherwin-Williams.

 

    • MAGIC KNOBS: Kitchen Magic, a kitchen remodeling company with 41 years of experience under its toolbelt, has launched a new designer hardware collection. New styles include the Cyprus Collection, a bowed bar-pull, and the Ravino cup pull, a European style in chrome and black finishes. The company, which specializes in custom cabinetry, remodeling and cabinet refacing, developed the line with Amerock, a maker of decorative and functional hardware founded in 1928. Amerock is a member of the Carolina Chapter. Kitchen Magic traces its roots to Allentown, Pa., in 1979. Its consultants now work across seven states in the Northeast on renovation projects, and the company belongs to the Susquehanna Valley Chapter.
